Welcome to the Department of Finance weekly Seminar Series!

UNIPI 22.JPGThe departmental weekly seminar series is organized by Michail Anthropelos and George Skiadopoulos. It runs every Thursday 16:15-18:00 at the University of Piraeus. Seminars are intended to promote knowledge in the area of Finance and its related fields of Economics, Econometrics and Accounting. Our guest speakers from universities, research centers, think tanks or central banks in Greece and abroad present and discuss their latest research work. Seminars are well attended by faculty members, academics from other universities, doctoral students, and practitioners.

In the past, well-known researchers from Cornell, Chicago, Columbia, ECB, HEC Lausanne, INSEAD, LBS, LSE, McGill, Northwestern, New York University, New York Fed, Oxford, UCLA, University of Southern California Warwick, Wharton, etc have presented their papers. 

The department of Banking and Financial Management of the University of Piraeus is considered to be the leading one in Finance in Greece and has awarded honorary doctorates to Professor George Constantinides (University of Chicago) and Professor Stephen Ross (MIT).  The departmental stuff has published in journals like American Economic Review, Quarterly Journal of Economics, Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, Management Science, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Finance, Journal of Business, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Econometric Theory, etc
