Welcome to my web-site.
I am Michalis (or Michail) Anthropelos.
Since January 2012, I have been a lecturer in the Department of Banking and Financial Management of the University of Piraeus. While I was waiting for my official appointment (from the Greek state), I teach in the Graduate Studies programs in Banking and Financial Management.
For details on the courses that I teach follow the link above.
A few words about my studies... I did my Ph.D. studies (accomplished in December 2008) in the Department of Mathematics of the University of Texas at Austin. My research area is Financial Mathematics and more precisely, problems on utility maximization, on derivative pricing in incomplete markets and on the theory of convex risk measures. The supervisor of my Ph.D. thesis was Prof. Gordan Zitkovic.
Before experiencing the life in Texas, I spent a year in New York, where I got the Master’s degree in Mathematics, with specialization in Mathematics of Finance from Columbia University.
My bachelor degree is on Statistics and Insurance Science, awarded by University of Piraeus (Greece) in June 2002. For some further details, see my CV.
